Nirmala
Training College, started in 2005,
is a Christian minority institution
imparting Secondary Teacher Education
Course (B.Ed.) under self financing
stream. The institution is dedicated
to St. Mary and is under the patronage
of His Grace. Dr. Mathews Mar Severios,
Metropolitan of Kandanad.
This
institution is sanctioned by Government
of Kerala vide Order No. G.O(Ms)No.71/2004/H.Edn.
dated 30.6.2004, recognized by National
Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)
vide Order No. F.KL/SEC/N/272/SRO/NCTE/2004-2005/766
dated 23.2.2005 and affiliated to
Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam,
vide order No. U.O.No.AcA1/1/ 2622/2005
dated 23-3-2005. Our current intake
is 100 students in Social Science,
Physical Science, Natural Science,
Mathematics and English. All necessary
facilities for the course has been
provided along with a fully furnished
library, well equipped computer lab,
psychology lab, spacious auditorium
for general assembly and co-curricular
programmes. Attached model high school,
St. Mary’s High School, under
the same management is an added advantage
for the students for close observation
and interaction with the students
and teachers during the course.
The
college is located at Thalacode, 18
Kms. from Ernakulam and 3 kms. South
east of Chottanikkara in a pristine
surrounding. The college is well connected
by road and rail. Mulanthuruthy, 5
kms. From the college is the nearest
railway station.
